Dr. Federico Dal Bo

Paper Title:Skin: a Metafictional Investigation into Jewish “Blackness” from Chamberlain’s and Pierce’s Racism to its Deconstruction in Modern British Film’

Born 1973; 2005 PhD in Translation Studies from the University of Bologna; 2009 PhD in Jewish Studies from the Free University of Berlin; worked as Teaching Assistant in Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Bologna and as Research Assistant at the Institute for Jewish Studies at the Free University of Berlin. He edited the Italian anthology Chi credete che io sia? Gesù nel suo e nel nostro tempo [Who do you think I am? Jesus in His and Our Time], Ferrara, Gallio, 2007. His most recent publication is the gender studies commentary: Massekhet Keritot. Text, Translation, and Commentary. A Feminist Commentary on the Babylonian Talmud (FCBT V/7), Tübingen, Mohr Siebeck, 2013.
His PhD in Translation Studies pertained to Paul Celans’ activity as a translator from Italian, English, and Hebrew into German. He is currently translating into Italian the monograph: P. Schäfer, Jesus in the Talmud and has recently published the prose of the Israeli poet Dan Pagis (see: Dan Pagis, Papà, Translation and postface of Federico Dal Bo, Florence, La Giuntina, 2014).
He is a fellow at the ICI Berlin for the years 2014-2016 (research project “Errans”) with a theological-political analysis of the Sacrifice of Isaac.
